Dr. Safa Hakim Elnazer is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at Yale University, specializing in Vascular Neurology. In addition to her expertise in stroke management, she also treats headache and facial pain. Dr. Hakim Elnazer completed her medical education at Stony Brook University, followed by a Neurology residency and Vascular Neurology fellowship at Yale. During her training, she created "Neurology Exam Prep," a widely-used podcast and valuable resource for neurology trainees, alongside several research and outreach projects.
As a faculty member, her clinical and research interests focus on Women’s Neurology, particularly addressing access to care. She is developing educational curricula for neurology trainees to improve the management of women-related neurological conditions. Through her work in New Haven and Bridgeport, she is also committed to developing clinical programs that address the vascular neurological needs of underserved populations.
