Katarina Rukavina is a neurologist and movement disorders specialist with a PhD in Clinical Neuroscience from King’s College London, and works at the Hospital for Movement Disorders, Beelitz (Germany).
She is committed to advancing equitable neurological care for women with neurodegenerative disorders, in close collaboration with patient organizations and NGOs.
As Co-Chair of the European Academy of Neurology (EAN) Palliative Care Panel, a member of the EAN Guideline Production Group, and an emerging leader of the Pain in Older Persons Group of the International Associateion for Study of Pain (IASP), she strives to improve quality of life for people living with neurological conditions through evidence-based, holistic, and equitable care. Katarina is also a member of the Steering Committee of the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society (MDS) Women in Movement Disorders group and co-leads its Education and Mentorship for Women subgroup. She has published 30+ peer reviewed papers and chaired sessions at international meetings.
