Dr. P. Emma Voinescu is a clinician–scientist, epileptologist, and leader in women’s neurological health. She serves as Director of the Women’s Epilepsy Clinical and Research Program at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Co-Director of the Women’s Neurology Program and Women’s Neurology Fellowship at Mass General Brigham, and Assistant Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School. She is also a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the North American AED Pregnancy Registry.
Her work focuses on the impact of sex hormones across the lifespan, with particular emphasis on epilepsy during pregnancy, postpartum, and menopause. She leads multidisciplinary clinical and research initiatives aimed at advancing personalized care and improving maternal and neurodevelopmental outcomes. Dr. Voinescu is the founder of ECAM (Epilepsy in the Childbearing Age through Menopause), an international consortium dedicated to fostering collaboration, innovation, and mentorship in women’s epilepsy research and care.
