Dr. Amy Hessler is currently  a private practice at Universal Neurological Care in Jacksonville, FL from 2023 to present  

She was previously at the University of Kentucky, Lexington, KY where she practiced as a general neurologist and the clerkship director for 13 year as an Associate Profession. She developed and ran a Women's Neurology Clinic embedded in the OB/GYN clinic in the UK for 5 years prior to leaving. 

Dr. Hessler is very involved in the AAN as the former Women’s Issues in Neurology chair. She now serves as the Sections and Subspecialty Subcommittee (SSS) chair and the Member Engagement Committing and rotating off the Education Committee. She ran the Case Studies in Pregnancy course in Philadelphia in 2019 and resumed that course director tenure in 2025. Her clinical passion is Women’s Neurology.

In the social media space, Dr. Hessler is the co-founder of the Women Neurologists Group which has grown to 4200 women neurologists.
